Subject of the proceeding: Anti-partisan warfare in the Smolensk area: Systematic search operations in towns and arrest, mishandling, statement extortion and shooting of men, women and children suspected of partisan activities or support of these activities. Burning alive of 70 women and children in a shed. Shooting of ill, wounded or Jewish prisoners of war as well as of officers and Political Commissars. Housing of prisoners of war in a POW assembly camp under severe freezing conditions, without lodgings, food or medical care, due to which 240 prisoners of war died. Cleansing of towns during which the able-bodied men were deported as forced laborers, persons suspected of partisan activities were shot and the remaining inhabitants were expelled
